HOPE IN VEIN

When cancer of the blood is at first diagnosed,

And a fairly short further life span is supposed,

Sufferers often just pray for not too much pain

Believing they’ll not see winter or spring again.

But thanks to modern drugs, and new techniques

This condition can be reversed for years not weeks.

And expectation of a longer life patients thus regain

Through intravenously giving them new hope in vein.
